Katharine Liberatore D.O.M.P.
Katharine Liberatore is an osteopathic manual practitioner with over 22 years of full-time clinical experience in downtown Toronto. She holds a B.Sc. in Physiology from the University of Toronto and completed five years of osteopathic education at the Canadian College of Osteopathy, followed by a two-year research thesis.
Her practice focuses on musculoskeletal pain and movement problems, with particular interests in persistent and recurring back and neck pain, headaches and TMJ concerns, sciatica, sports and gym-related injuries, and more complex presentations.
Katharine combines hands-on osteopathic treatment with detailed orthopedic assessment, functional neurology, movement and modern pain science to create an individualized approach for each patient.
Modern Pain Science & Individualized Care
Katharine understands that pain is not always a simple reflection of tissue damage. Pain is influenced by many factors, including how the brain and nervous system interpret information from the body, previous experiences, movement, context and the health of the tissues themselves.
This understanding can be particularly important when pain becomes persistent or recurrent. Katharine incorporates contemporary pain science and principles of neuroplasticity into her clinical reasoning, helping patients better understand their symptoms, build confidence in movement and progressively return to the activities that matter to them.
No two patients are alike. Katharine takes the time to understand each person’s history, symptoms and goals and performs a detailed assessment before developing an individualized treatment plan.
Her approach may include:
Hands-on osteopathic treatment to address mobility, comfort and function
Orthopedic and neurological assessment Pain education
Individualized movement, mobility and strengthening strategies
Collaboration with other healthcare professionals when appropriate
Her goal is to help patients understand their symptoms, improve function and develop the confidence and physical capacity to manage their health over the long term.
